University Of Wisconsin: Legislation to Ban Firearms

UoW-Madison

Campus Carry bills are becoming more and more common in the news lately. Supporters of these bills highlight the fact that almost every single campus shooting has happened in a “Gun Free Zone” where the only individuals that are willing to break that rule are the ones intent on harming others.

On the other side we have lawmakers trying to push for extreme criminal punishments for those who bring a firearm onto a college campus. Their believe is that the more guns that there are on a college campus, the more shootings we will have.

The newest State to grab headlines is Wisconsin. Only days after republican lawmakers introduced legislation to permit the carrying of firearms on campus by law abiding permit holders, the democratic lawmakers responded in stride with a bill that would make it a class one felony to bring a firearm onto campus.

If you agree that allowing law abiding citizens who have the right to defend themselves to carry weapons onto campus to defend themselves and others, write these lawmakers and voice your opinion. It doesn’t matter if you are a Madison, WI resident or not, if you disagree, let your voice be heard.
