Defensive Handgun: Mother Defends Herself and Baby From Armed Criminals

This past week, a normal Tuesday morning for a young mother turned out to be anything but. Semantha Bunce, 21, of Charlotte NC was caught in an early morning home invasion by armed criminals.

One of the criminals who is in police custody was convicted of two previous break-ins and court records showed that charges in three other break-ins in 2014 had been dismissed.

The mother, who is also a soldier with the National Guard, was able to put her training to work and returned fire when the armed criminals began shooting at her.

While Semantha was struck and injured in the altercation, a close friend to the victim informed the media over the weekend that she her recovery is going well and she is expected to be released soon.

If this mother had not been armed, she would have surely been killed and the baby, in the best case, would have grown up without a mother.

This career criminal will hopefully be spending a long time behind bars and we are glad to hear that the mother and child are fine.
