Defensive Handgun: Homeowner Finds Armed Intruder in House

A resident in Tennessee was startled to find an unknown armed individual inside his home. The victim told police that he heard his garage door open and went to investigate.

As the victim neared the hallway in his kitchen, he saw a tall man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and holding a shotgun. The victim in turn grabbed his firearm and fired a single shot at the home intruder. At this point, it is unknown if the intruder was hit by the bullet, but it was confirmed to have entered the laundry room wall. After the shot was fired, the criminal fled the scene.

The suspect is currently on the run and police are tracking every available lead to find his whereabouts. If the homeowner had been unarmed, this could have played out very differently.
