GREENLEAF, ID – In addition to the Confederate Flag controversy, the Emmanuel Church massacre also brought about the debate over gun control again with a new furry.
And a small Canyon County town is taking a very public stance on guns. Greenleaf city leaders are rolling out signs that warn visitors, “This is not a gun free zone.”
“Guns are just a part of everybody’s life around here”
“Everybody here has a gun, one or two of them,”
“At least a dozen in my house or more,”
“This isn’t a gun free zone, we know that hopefully, everybody coming to the city knows that,”

It’s lovely when people make a statement as one. Greenleaf ‘s statement is exemplary, it should be made all across this country. “We Will Not Be Victimized”, Greenleaf made this loud and clear. The statement “this is not a gun free zone” is sending a message to would-be law breakers that if you want to hold up an establishment here, then they made a very bad choice. Don’t mess with the wrong town.
Defensive gun use is a reality that happens everyday in the United States alone. When criminals understand that they are most likely to meet an equally (if not more) armed response, it becomes a new ball game.
