STILL TIME TO GET THAT MUST HAVE CCW ACCESSORY FOR THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE ON YOUR LIST

December 21, 2017

Here it is a week before Christmas and you still don’t have a gift for your special someone. If they are a concealed carrier, there are a lot of great “must have” accessories out there that would be the perfect choice.

How About a Gun Holster

If you are considering buying a concealed carry holster for that special someone, there are a few things you want to consider:

(1) What is the shooters’ style preference? Are they a particular, more luxury oriented individual? If so, you may want to consider a premium leather holster with finely crafted details.  Are they a more athletic individual? If so, they may appreciate a sportier neoprene holster.

(2) Are they right –handed or left-handed? A waistband holster will be oriented toward the dominant shooting hand-right or left. Getting the wrong one would render the holster useless for the shooter.

(3) What type of handgun do they carry everyday? Handgun holsters do not come in a one size fits all. Typically they are tailored to fit specific brands and models.

If you are not sure of the answers to those questions, a gift certificate to a reputable gun store or gun holster manufacturer’s website store is always a great option.

Consider a Quality Gun Belt

A good gun belt can literally make or break your concealed carry experience. The width of the belt should match the width of any mounting slots on your holster, and the belt should be firm enough to prevent the weight of the firearm from pulling the grip away from the body. This will keep the firearm from moving on the belt and rubbing against the user. An uncomfortable gun belt will lead to the user reaching down and adjusting it regularly. This indicator can communicate to others that you have a concealed firearm.

A magazine Carrier is always a Welcome gift

If you are ever in a self-defense situation, having an extra magazine could actually save your life. A magazine carrier to carry that extra round of ammunition in would be a welcome gift for any concealed carrier. In addition to being able to strap it on the gun belt for added protection, you can also keep it in your car or truck-just in case. While most magazine carriers are pretty straight forward, here are a few things you want to look for:

  1. Look for a mag carrier that can be carried both Inside the waistband and outside the waistband-which means you need 2 gun belt options.
  2. Make sure the mag holder is fully adjustable so you can wear it vertically, horizontally or slightly tilted to better conceal it.

Whatever accessory you decide to go with, make sure you get it from a reputable manufacturer that will stand behind it with a replacement warranty and return option in case something is defective or just doesn’t fit right.

If you are unsure of the specifics of the particular accessories or just want to allow that special someone the freedom to chose their own accessories, a gift certificate or card to a gun shop or online manufacturer’s web store is always a good option.
