Campus Carry One Step Closer in Florida

Two bills were pushed through the criminal-justice committee last week bringing concealed carry on campuses one step closer to fruition.

Both measures cleared their respective committees in Florida’s House and Senate paving the way for the elimination of “Gun Free Zones” on all public universities and college campuses.

Professor Gary Kleck of Florida State University College of Criminology stated:

“Defensive gun use is virtually never followed by injury. It is both frequent and effective, and it isn’t likely to be any less so just because they are on a college campus.”

Both bills must now pass the respective Higher Education Committees before they head to a vote to become law. National Carry Academy will be updating this story as these bills mature.
